The D2071 xDSL Tester is a new modular device distinguished for its versatility, able to operate over G.ShDSL, ADSL, ISDN, Analog networks and on their latest evolutions (ADSL2/2+).
The innovative main unit and single modules design makes easier the management of the different xDSL technologies.
The new Aethra xDSL Tester D2071 has been designed to meet the requirements occurring during installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Digital Subscribers Lines. Its easiness and immediacy constitute a good help for every technician, even the less skilled one.
The main innovation pursued by Aethra with the D2071 is the modular design, which allows to share in a single device the potentialities of different technologies. The instrument is therefore composed of a main unit with a port to host an interchangeable module and a handy card. Every module/card matches one of the different technology available: ShDSL; ADSL; ADSL2, ADSL2+, ISDN.
The D2071 software inside the main unit recognizes the inserted card and enables the type of tests available on the specific interface.

The performances are improved by the use of PC108 for Windows™, powerful tool to deepen protocol analysis with a laptop or a PC, to implement optional features and to control the device either by RS232 connection or by TCP/IP connection from a remote site.
The on-board Ethernet port allows the management of two situations: the device can work as a PC (connected to the user’s modem, host mode) or can simulate the modem connected between the user’s PC and the CO (bridge mode).
A key feature of D2071 is without any doubt the “Background Monitor” which enables the capture of the main communication protocols. On-board decoding or advanced analysis through PC contribute to solve even the most complex troubles regarding xDSL connections.
The activation of optional features concerning ATM layer, Frame Relay and IP layer provides a complete and reliable set of tests to identify every aspect of the line to be troubleshoot or maintained. |
