The NT1+2a/b is a fully-featured network terminating unit for the ISDN basic access, which provides the following functions:

- NT1 conforming to ITU-T Recommendations I.412 and ETSI ETR 080
- U interface line code 2B1Q or 4B3T
- S interface with up to 8 ISDN-capable terminals
- two analog (a/b) interfaces for analog terminals (country-specific)
