Optical modems are intended for multiplexing and transfer initial streams Е1 with speed of transfer 2,048 kbps in a secondary group stream with speed 8,448 kbps on one an optical cable with length of a wave 1,3 microns. The secondary stream is transferred in a format appropriate to Recommendation MSE-T G.742. Electric characteristics of streams Е1 correspond to Recommendation "MSE-T" G.703.
