The PCM5D system facilitates five ISDN basic rate accesses to be operated independently of each other via one subscriber line. Regarding its functionality, the system represents a multiplexer for the ISDN basic rate access determined to provide channelling of twin-wire copper cable. The application of the PCM5D system offers considerable savings in the amount of copper cable used.
